Just installed and tested the new version.
This is superb. You elegantly killed my two birds (display order + non-time based activities) with one stone.
If I dared, I'd suggest to even make it possible to set all activities as "monitored : yes/no" and "Action:attempted/completed" in one click inside the "Block settings" part... Spoiled brats keep asking for more...
I'm still left with my Scorm problem. I posted a tracker (https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/CONTRIB-4669) regarding that. Let me know if the scorm package I uploaded works normally in your environment. Personnally, it behaved the same in two specific Moodle instances.

Thanks, Michael. I went and added the improvement idea. The simplest way would be a start and end date of monitoring the progress. When a new unit/quarter/semester/etc... starts, the teacher can adjust the monitoring dates.

It could be possible to limit events to those in the current weekly or currently highlighted section when shown in the bar to students. Perhaps you could create an improvement issue in the Tracker and add some detail to your idea there.

Writing events to the calendar is a possibility, I suppose, but while some activities already do that themselves, I think I would like to keep the block away from the calendar.

Let me clarify why just turning off the monitoring would be a hassle. Since the items in the configuration screen are listed alphabetically by item type (activity, quiz, scorm...), it would be time consuming to bounce around to get all the items in a unit/topic. Regardless, this is still going to be a great asset for my students!

I think this will help my Junior High students keep track of any missing assignments. What I wonder, however, is if there is a way to set the progress to other settings other than entire course. My course is a year long, so that progress bar will get REALLY crowded. Is there a way to set it up to look only at the current topic? I suppose I can go in and stop monitoring of the ones in a different topic/unit, but a setting to match the current topic would make life easier. Maybe a setting to show progress based on Topic or simply entering a starting and ending date that a teacher could change to simulate topic, unit, quarter, trimester, or semester.

There is any chance to the "Expected" dates, shows in the course calendar as an upcoming event?

The tool follows due dates if they are applicable to an activity, or it can follow manually set dates. And it can base the success of an activity on activity completion, but it won't follow the date set in activity completion settings, at least not at this stage. It's not a bad idea though. It would be a good default date for activities without a due date. I've created an improvement issue (https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/CONTRIB-4526). Thanks for the idea.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by alphabetical order. The configuration page orders the activities by the type of activity (assignment, BBB, book, ...). The order of activities in the displayed progress bar is governed by either the date associated with each activity or there is an option to simply order the items by their order in the course. By module, perhaps you mean section. If you did name your activities using the same name, I suppose it would be hard to distinguish them. Ordering the configuration page using the same order as the course is not a bad idea, so I've created in improvement issue for that also (https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/CONTRIB-4527).
If you've got any more ideas, please keep them coming.

Also, it orders the resources and activities in Alphabetical order, so I have to go back to my course to see which ones are in which module. Bit of a time waster.

Hi there - I may have misread this, but this tool ignores the settings for expected completion dates established when I created the activities and resources and asks that I set them again in the tool. Is that the way it is meant to work?

Yes, I added a feature recently that allows you to order items according to their order in the course rather than specific times/deadlines. I should have added this to the description and documentation earlier, but I've done that now. It's pretty easy to set this on the configuration page. See...

We are very interested in using your amazing Progress Bar tool.
We enroll students multiple times through out the year into the same main class.
Does the tool allow different due dates for different groups of students?

I've added a few updates over the last few days. The block now supports Turnitin and BBB activities. There have also been a few bug fixes.
