@Davo Smith, buddy It was an idea that I got when I was playing with your plugin. My idea is like the following:
- When the teacher start the quiz she/ he should able to get the number of students joined in that particular session of quiz, it can be a 'DIV' which should be able to reload every 5 seconds.
- Suppose the teacher started the quiz without nobody joined to answer, then it will become in vain.
-As you suggested those students who have clicked 'connect' can be taken as count.
- In future you can add provision just like showing users online like in facebook.
For now if you can add a student count(those who are click connect), then it will be fantastic.
I liked the plugin a lot buddy. Cheers!!
Santhosh - an interesting idea, but could you explain a bit more about how this would work? Where would the information display on the screen? Would this be based on tracking those students who have clicked 'connect', or are you wanting some other measure to see which students are online (those who have visited the course in the recent past?).
Also, is this a feature you would like me to look at when I next have some spare time, or is this a feature you have some funding available to enable me to prioritise it?
Buddy please add an option to track online students. So that the teacher can track them whether the students joined Quiz or not.
Thanks for the suggestions. Using the HTML editor for answers is more complicated than simply switching it on - it involves a lot of extra code to handle storing the files. It will also make the question editing form a lot more complex and harder to use.
There is no support for question types other than multiple choice - it would be particularly hard to imagine how you could use essay questions in such a scenario (are you expecting the teacher to stop the class and individually mark each answer, before continuing?). For different question types, you will need to use the standard quiz module.
Thank Davo Smith for contributing this plugin.
I think that it's more good if there are a html editor in the answers ,I want to insert pictures or videos to the answer.
Is there other types of question ?multiple choice,or essay?
Thanks David
This plugin just received the Featured plugin award! Read more at https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=274519 Congrats Davo, well done!
Thanks Davo.
Great news, indeed.
Hi David/Lib,
I'm currently waiting on some development work being done by another developer for their employer which may cover some of those features.
Once that is complete (and assuming it is possible to release it), I will be able to review and see what further work could be done.
I second the requests for improvements, specifically those listed by David Dunn.
I am willing to get a crowd-funding effort going and contribute myself financially to the development of this plugin.
I will contact Davo and see this can be done. Stay tuned!
Hi Davo,
My colleagues and I at HZ Uni. of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands have enjoyed using this plugin and would love to see more development. Is there any way of getting support from Moodle HQ?
In particular, we would be keen to see
- students able to review their answers;
- more flexible review options, e.g. student ranking
- integration with Moodle question bank (Imagine that!)
- more accurate student results (some students get more than 100%)
I hope we can find a means to develop this plugin further because I feel it is an essential tool that is lacking in the Moodle core, and leaves users searching for non-Moodle alternatives such as getkahoot, shakespeak, socrative, etc.
@Rene Diaz I use this plugin on 2.7 perfectly.
@Davo Smith Thanks for the feedback, I'd gladly fund it if i had the dough! Sadly I'm just using this as an after hours debating coach with my students. If you ever come around to releasing an update, any way of rapidly importing questions (GIFT or Aiken) would be useful.
I'm not aware of any specific incompatibility with 2.7, what is the problem you've encountered after upgrading?
Hello I upgeraded to 2.7 and realized this great plugin is not compatible with .7/ Will you be doing an upgrade and if so when do you think it will be available?
Hi Jesse,
I'd love to implement the question bank import (or similar), but it requires time that I don't have going spare in the evening/weekend. If someone was able to fund it, I'd be able to add this (and any other requested features) as part of my day job. I'd also consider accepting a well-written patch that someone else writes.
