Hi Jason, any ideas roughly when we can expect the official release for 2.9? is it likely to be this month as planned?

There is no oublog version for 2.9 at present. It is recommended that you do not run on 2.9 at this time. We are switching to 2.9 for development in the next few weeks and we will carry out automated + manual checks during this period to ensure the plugin continues to work - updates will be made to github Master branch at this point (beginning September). The 'official' oublog release for 2.9 will be in Dec.

Is there a 2.9 version for OUblog?

Hi Jason, I have downloaded the latest version to my test server, and can see the option for the managelinks. On my live server I am running V2014942500, which doesn't seem to display that option. I'l have a look and apply the latest to our system. Thanks for your help. Martin

It's a permission (managelinks), not a configuration option.

Martin, the only permission on the links block is whether the user can manage the links (managelinks). If no links were added then users without this capability would not see the block.

Lindy, you are running a very old version of the plugin - there may well have previously been a bug that has been fixed to resolve your issue.
Please note that the plugin does not support Moodle 2.7 at present. We are about to migrate to 2.7 over the coming month and updates will be released to the github master branch. There will be an 'official' 2.7 compatible version release in December.

Hello folks,
My organisation has been using OU Blogs on Moodle 2.5 and students and staff have been very happy with it. We upgraded to Moodle 2.7 this month, and discovered that all the OU Blog activity, despite showing that its running in individual mode with separate groups, is allowing every user to view and comment on every other user's blog in the course.
This is a bit of a problem for us - is there likely to be a fix for it anytime soon??

Jason - thanks for pointing that out, just gave it a go and it makes a ZIP file of HTML files. I'll tinker with both approaches

David, There is already print to file support in the plugin... We support the standard Moodle portfolio export functionality. If you enable a suitable portfolio plugin (e.g. File download or Google Docs) within the Moodle admin screen you should be able to export individual posts or all posts shown.
The only issue with this is that unless you have a portfolio plugin installed that supports output to Word doc or PDF (I'm not sure any exist?) then Google Docs is really the only viable option for outputting to a printable format.
