What has happened to the Comments feature that was available in Moodle 1.9? The Annotations options exists, but the Comments to page seems unavailable.
Sue: I don't know, but perhaps Jason might. He's away at the moment.
I am looking for the OUwiki 1.9 updated plugin that must be installed, in order for ouwikis in courses to transfer properly into 2.4. Do you know where I can find this 1.9 update?
Edgardo - sorry but we don't see that problem. If you want to report a problem, please can you ensure you have the server debugging level set to 'DEVELOPER' and the option to display debug messages turned on (both in the 'Debugging' settings page). Hopefully an error will be displayed which you can report as a bug using our GitHub site, linked at the top of this page. Thanks.
I have problem with OUWIKI and moodle 2.4. About YUI3. I try to use a master version from github and solve the problem with the message about YUI3, but now, i write a new page and the page disapear. Someone can help me.
I can't say I've really looked into any of the advanced grading stuff so I wouldn't know how much work is involved in adding it to OUwiki - but as there is no current requirement to add support for rubrics at this end then I would think that it won't be in the next couple of releases (so certainly not in the initial 2.4 release). Of course, we could include if anyone in the community wanted to submit a patch for review adding support...
Thank you Jason and Sam. One more question: will the OU Wiki upgrade to 2.4 compatibility include the addition of "Grading methods" (i.e. Rubrics)?
To be clear, Jason is in charge of ouwiki now, but I'll answer both general questions here as well as I can:
1. About the time of updates.
a. The OU generally updates about six months after a new version comes out (to ensure stability, consistency, etc), so if you rely on any of our plugins, it's worth using the same schedule.
b. It isn't in our control whether our plugins continue to work on newer versions - when they stop working, that's because Moodle have changed the API in some way that breaks our module.
c. Although we won't have a stable 2.4 version until about when 2.5 comes out, if you are willing to deal with 'unstable' (from our master branch) this may be a few months earlier.
2. About including OU wiki in core
I might be more 'in the loop' than Jason on this, except I'm not sure there is a loop to be in, so I agree with Jason's conclusion! This definitely remains a possibility but is not an immediate prospect as far as I'm aware.
I'm not in the loop on this (if there even is one!) but I would imagine that it's not very likely in the near future - so at least several point versions away.
Hello,
I read in the RoadMap page:
http://docs.moodle.org/dev/Roadmap
that the OU WIki may be a "replacement for wiki in core". How likely is this? Are discussions actually under way to make this a reality?
There is no stable 2.4 release version. I wouldn't expect that to arrive until May/June time. (Of course the Master version in GitHub may work fine as is)
Hi,
Is there stable release for Moodle 2.4? Can you please guide me when it will be available?
The link works. I just tested it. https://github.com/moodleou/moodle-mod_ouwiki
That is great Sam, but where can one get the plugin that works? The link above to the github is saying "Not Found"
If you want a 2.3-compatible version of the OU wiki, please download the latest version from GitHub ('Source control URL' link above).
This version has not been fully tested. The Open University currently intends to move to Moodle 2.3 in December; from that point, there will be a 'stable' 2.3 branch for OU wiki and other OU tools.
