JazzQuiz

What is it?

JazzQuiz is designed to be used in face-to-face lessons.
The teacher may plan questions in advance, but can also easily improvise on the fly.
Write your question on the blackboard, and select an appropriate question type from the dropdown menu.
Several improvise questions will already be included: Short answer, multichoice (3, 4 & 5), true/false.

During the lesson, the teacher starts the quiz. Students can now connect to this quiz.
Once the teacher is satisfied that all students have connected to the quiz, they can click on Start Quiz
Depending on the question settings the question will end automatically, or will need to be ended via the instructor's
End question button. The teacher can start a vote, with the selected responses, which students can answer.

The teacher can, at a later date, go back through the results and, for each question, see exactly what answer each student gave.
The repolls are treated as separate questions, and you will get a correct order in the review page.

• Privacy API is now implemented to comply with GDPR


• It's now possible to scroll in fullscreen mode


• The correct answer will now hide when starting a new question


• Added "Add to quiz" button in the edit page to allow for adding all selected questions simultaneously


• Fixed MathJax issue where LaTeX was sometimes not rendered


• The "True / False" default improvise question has been changed to "Yes / No" (Must delete old one in activity's category manually to get the new one)


• Added anonymity options to sessions, and the students will know which option is selected


• Guests can now enter a session, when the "Allow guests" checkbox is checked


• The anonymity and guest settings are remembered for next time


• If the ShortMath question type is installed, a default improvisation question will be added for it


• Fixed bug where the "Improvise" and "Jump" dropdown menus sometimes had to be clicked twice to open


• The instructor and student will now be redirected back to the view page after a session is over


• Improvise questions (with {IMPROV} prefix) will now also be loaded from the activity's parent categories. Unlike before, where they were only loaded from its own category. Note that if some improvise questions have identical names, only one will show in the dropdown menu. It's arbitrary which question is then loaded. This is due to some older versions possibly having residual improvise questions in parent categories.

Installation:

Moodle plugins directory

Click on Install now within the plugins directory, and then select your site from the list of "My sites"

Manually

Unzip all the files into a temporary directory.
Copy the jazzquiz folder into moodle/mod.
The system administrator should then log in to moodle and click on the Notifications link in the Site administration
block.

Uninstalling:

Delete the module from the Activities module list in the admin section.
