I love using this plugin so I don't have to convert the PDF to an image to put into a lesson. The plugin is just really slow when viewing PDFs.

Download cannot be prevented. When viewing anything online it is always downloaded to the user's computer and read locally. Only difference is that using a web browser the document is read from browser cache.
