Hi Philipp, I updated the plugin and now I do not have any errors on Scales anymore, thanks for pointing that out. For the styling I will gather screenshots and raise an issue on Github. Thanks for your prompt reply!
Hi Peter, first issue is probably being caused by a very early development version of mootimeter. Do you have the latest version of mootimeter installed?
Could you maybe please raise an issue on https://github.com/mebis-lp/moodle-mod_mootimeter/issues for both your errors and provide screenshots with the additional error messages / the view of the bad styling? TIA!
Hi Peter, great plugin that works well for us. Two things however. 1. We get an error when we want to work with regular Scales in Moodle. Debugging says "Field "grade" does not exist in table "mootimeter" (line 136 line 380). 2. We maybe use answer that are too long? When viewing the results the text does not fit and does not display very well. Thanks for helping out!
Hi, yes you have to be enrolled in the course that contains the activity. But it's possible to combine it with something like a self enrolment method and an easy enrol key or even an auto enrol method (there's a plugin for this).
hello, do you have to be logged into the moodle course to take part in polls as a student?
Hi Philipp, thank you very much for your response and explanation. I notice that the option to publish the pages is only available when the page is selected and this may lead to some user misunderstood. Now i have visibility of the contents! Congrats the plugin looks great!
It's not the visibility of the activity, but inside the activity the visbility of the page: Are the page icons on the left dashed through? If yes, click the page and click on the eye icon. If this doesn't work I suggest to create a moodle forum post and add some screenshots there and post a link to the thread here.
Hi, yes. I've created all the pages, a quiz, wordcloud and also a poll. The activity is available to participants but users cannot see anything, (I also reviewed all the steps but there is nothing in particular that allows students to see the activity). The page has been also debug up but there is no warning about it in the console. Any clues?
Hi, after creating the activity, did you also create a page (so for example a "Quiz" or a "Wordcloud")? And did you set the page visible? IIRC as a default the newly created page is being hidden at first, so the teacher has time to prepare it. After this it has to be set to "visible".
I completed the instalation of the plugin, all the checks went ok, I've created the activity, but when i try to view as a student i only get this message: "Recently there are no questions to answer". I'm missing some part of the configuration? Thanks in advance. (Moodle version 4.4.1)
Thank you for post. We're happy to hear you want to use mootimeter. User completion settings like submitting to the poll are not that easy to implement. One mootimeter activity instance contains multiple pages of different sub-activities like poll, quiz, wordcloud. So what exactly should be the completion setting? Submitting to everyone, submitting to at least one, submitting to exactly the second one? If you have specific use cases, feel free to open an issue on github to discuss it. If you can provide development resources, we're always open to pull requests.
Looking forward to getting this plugin used at our institution more and I believe it'll be very helpful. Do you plan on adding more user completion settings, such as submitting to the poll?
This is a great plugin. Thanks for sharing.
I understand. We march along Moodle LTS, that will be 4.5 LTS this Fall. Our transition will be in Sommer 2025. I might spawn a staging instance running 4.3, time permitting.
Hi Visvanath,
thank you for your interest. The answer however unfortunately is no: We have some non-backportable code in the plugin which does not allow us to backport it easily, so this plugin will require at least moodle 4.3.
