While at Educause a couple weeks ago, I talked to someone in the MoodleRooms booth who told me that a Moodle 2.3 version of the Advanced Forums was coming. Can you confirm and, even better, could you give a timeframe?
Thanks!
David
Thanks for your interest in Advanced Forums. The grading functionality you refer to is actually provided through a separate plugin called Joule Grader, which has not been released. The Advanced Forum does not have a module grading interface, so the only way to grade in the community edition is through the Moodle Gradebook. We currently have no plans to implement a module grading interface at this time, but if a programmer in the community were interested in developing a solution we would review the patch for integration with the main module.
? Ability to see all students on one grading screen, with the number of posts each one has made to a forum, broken out by total posts, posts, and replies.
? Ability to click on the number of posts a student has made and then see them, consolidated on a separate tab (so you don’t leave the grading screen).
? Ability to enter a single grade for a student’s total participation in a forum and to enter narrative comments, both of which appear on the same grading screen and go into the gradebook automatically. (These functions can be accomplished in Moodle 2 via ratings and comments set up in the gradebook, but again, much less elegant than in Joule.)
Are there any plans to add these features to the community version?
