Hi Davo, Many thanks for your reply! When we tried to upgrade to the Moodle version 3.0, it complained about the compatibility and did not allow to upgrade to 3.0 until we removed the plugin. Any suggestion for us? Many thanks again for you help.
Stefan.
Stefan,
I'm not directly aware of any reason why it would not work with Moodle 3.1, but I have not tested it directly. If you find any problems, let me know and I will try to look at them (but cannot promise a quick turnaround).

Many thanks for such a useful Plugin! As my institution is planning to upgrade to Moodle 3.1., I am wondering if there will be any update of the present version of the Portfolios? Otherwise, is there an editable version of the Book on which we can work on to develop the required functionality for 3.1.? Looking forward to hearing from you! Many thanks again!
Stefan.
Hi Dirk,
I can't make any absolute promises. The customer who commissioned the plugin is still actively using it, so it should be maintained for the immediate future (although there are some changes that I may need to copy back into the released version).

Thank you for this work and for making it available.
Given the current state of this project is it safe to assume that we could get a few years of service out of it? Without any money committed, can you predict? Thank you.
Hi Laura,
Neither of those features were part of the requirements for the customer who commissioned this plugin. They could probably both be added, but it is unlikely to happen unless there was some funding available to pay for the developer time involved.

I've just installed this onto our test site and it looks great, but I can't see a tool for tracking progress through the portfolio (e.g. how many sections/chapters are complete vs availalbe) or a way of managing assessors - I want to assign specific assessors to specific individuals and only allow them to see those people. Does this exist somewhere I'm missing?
Thanks for your quick feedback, Davo. I'd be really excited to see this implemented. Thanks for contributing the tool. It really fills a gap that where a lot of people have a need.

The tool does not support students being able to see contributions from any other students (whether in the same group, or otherwise). Possibly something that might happen in a future version...
Hello!
This tool is great. I have one question. I would like to have a groups of students working in single portfolio and the group settings in the common module settings would appear to support this. However, when I make contributions from separate student accounts in the same group, each student is unable to see the other's contribution. Am I doing something incorrectly or does the tool not support group/per portfolio structure. Many Thanks!
John
No reason I can think of why it wouldn't be, but I haven't done any specific testing of this.
Is this compatible with 2.7.2?
Hello there. Thank you for putting this plugin together. I am trying out on a staging site but am getting some strange errors. I've submitted it as an issue on github: https://github.com/synergylearning/moodle-mod_giportfolio/issues/2
At one point we also got the below error, but have not been able to reproduce it, so I have not submitted it as an issue yet.
Debug info: Module giportfolio claims to support
FEATURE_COMPLETION_HAS_RULES but does not have required
giportfolio_get_completion_state function

Hi there - am having issues in Moodle 2.4 with it speaking with the gradebook. The grade just doesn't seem to stick.
Virgilio - currently the Portfolio only allows students to share their submissions with the teacher, not other students in the course. It should be possible to allow sharing with other students, but that would require some developer time to add that feature.
