Interactive Content – H5P

Hi, I want to install the most recent version of the plugin, but after uploading the .h5p zip from your website it says:
"The system was unable to install the Column component from the package, it requires a newer version of the H5P plugin. This site is currently running version 1.11, whereas the required version is 1.12 or higher. You should consider upgrading and then try again.

I'am running version 1.0-rc.5 (2016113000) of the plugin on my Moodle 3.1 installation (3.1.3+ (Build: 20161125)). I' don't want to make a reinstall, because then I lost all of my early made content.
By updating the plugin through the Moodle plugin database it says: "You've asked to install the Interactive Content – H5P (mod_hvp) version 2017010900 add on on this site, but it's already being installed." ?? I'm running version 2016113000.
So how could I update the plugin without trouble? I really like your new fresh templates. Thanks!

We hope to upgrade next week, but will engage with H5P when the new version arrives.

Hi again @Len Ko, I've learned now that we had a package that was missing H5P.DialogCards for 5 hours that day. Someone else reported the problem as well through a different channel and it was fixed. It slipped through all our QA routines mainly because the tester had the right version but the one who packaged the final version had one called DialogueCards (spelled differently, it was renamed at some point). We've improved our routine to make sure that this doesn't happen again.

@Svein-Tore Griff With, it's been solved now. Don't now really whats done the job, but the only thing I changed was deleted the plugin, switch on debug (E_all) and cleaned the cache (Moodle cache, not browser cache). Then I did a fresh install. I get some notifications like "Undefined property: stdClass::$tutorialUrl in /var/www/mysite/mod/hvp/library/h5p.classes.php on line 2426", but after a while it shows success and 88 libraries where installed. Jikes! I instantly tried a fresh Moodle (3.1) install now, but I got the libraries automatically and everything installed the way it should including Dialog Cards. Is there anything special with the way you did it or your system that may have caused this problem? Could you check for error messages on your server logs?

I want to install the 1.0-rc.5 (2016113000) version of the plugin on my Moodle 3.1 installation (3.1.3+ (Build: 20161125)), but after the install (it's says success), the libraries are empty. It comes with a 'Missing required library H5P.Dialogcards 1.4' notification. Manually download and install the content type package afterwards (the official-h5p-release-20161206.h5p package) also results in 'Missing required library H5P.Dialogcards 1.4'. Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't know that H5P has been tested with Moodle Mobile, yet. In theory, it should work without but in practice, there might be some adjustments needed. I've created an issue for looking into this: https://h5ptechnology.atlassian.net/browse/HFP-252

I just wanted to let you know that, since 4 years, the recommended way for Moodle plugins to handle translations is NOT to include them directly (appart for english), but to put them in AMOS.

Hi Lester,
Can you go to: "site administration" -> Users -> Permissions -> "Capability Overview", then search if you can find "mod/hvp:addinstance" as a capability. If you do not have it, something unexpected has happened, perhaps it has been removed from your database. In this case I suggest reinstalling the plugin, which should re-create the capabilities.
Please direct support requests like this to the H5P.org forum or the community chat instead of here, the likelihood of someone being able to help you there is a lot higher, since it is a gathering point for the H5P community.
