I'm please to confirm that @AlanQuaino's fix also works on Moodle 5.2.1.
As he already mentionned, change mod/hvp/classes/curl.php so the put() signature is: public function put($url, $params = [], $options = [], $includeuserpwd = true)
After applying the change, purge Moodle caches and run the Moodle upgrade/notifications step.

Cannot update from version 1.28.1 to version 1.28.2. Here are my settings:

I wanted to update to Moodle 5.1 but it seems this plugin is compatible with Moodle 4.5. Will there be a new version compatible with the latest version of Moodle? Thanks.

I would like to ask whether there are any plans to release an updated version of the **Interactive Content – H5P / mod_hvp** plugin compatible with **Moodle 5.0 and later versions**.
We are currently planning Moodle upgrades and need to evaluate whether this plugin will continue to be supported for Moodle 5.x, or whether we should start considering a migration strategy to Moodle’s core H5P activity/content bank.
Could you please confirm if Moodle 5.0+ compatibility is on the roadmap, and if there is any estimated timeline for a compatible release?

We have ran in to problems with some of the h5p activities not loading at all after upgrading Moodle to 4.5.11 & h5p framework 1.28 please see https://moodle.atlassian.net/browse/MDL-88637

The latest update mod_hvp_moodle45_2026031900 does so the content fail to load. You have to manually enter edit mode and save to fix it.

So far, it seems to be working fine with Moodle 5.1. I hope you can add 5.x version so that we can update the plugin directly through Moodle GUI. Otherwise, we hit the curl compatibility issue when running the content upgrade task.

Hello, please improve compatibility with Moodle v5+ (v5.1.x).

I’m encountering an error when trying to update the content types. The message states that plugin version 1.28 is required; however, version 1.28 has not been released yet.
I’m currently using mod_hvp 1.27.3 (2026012200) on Moodle 4.5. Is there a workaround?

To make it compatible with Moodle 5 (I've tested it on Moodle 5.1.3), just change the "put()" signature - updating the file "path_to_moodle_folder/moodle/public/mod/hvp/classes/curl.php" - by changing it from "public function put($url, $params = '', $options = [])" to "public function put($url, $params = [], $options = [], $includeuserpwd = true)".

When will Moodle 5 compatibility be released??
