AJAX Marking Block

Maintained by Matt Gibson
Shows a teacher all of the unmarked work which has been submitted by their students across all of the courses they teach in. It's most useful when placed on the front page, and it allows the work to be viewed and graded through a pop-up interface, which then updates the block once the work is marked.

Harrie, any chance you could share the code you have with the fixes? Would be most grateful!
We are running either 2.5 or 2.6 (we have a test server that's at 2.6.2 and the actual site may be 2.5 still...not sure). We have run into an issue where one teacher (possibly others) is grading assignments, but the list isn't updating for him. Is there a known way to solve this?
I have a working 2.5 version - we had a developer go through and fix many issues (resubmissions, multiple attempts etc). I have supplied this to Matt for him to go through and check and then upload for everyone. In the meantime, feel free to message me and I can forward you a copy. You would need to test the copy with your version prior to using however.
Thank you!
Hello Brendan,
This plugin only supports Moodle till version 2.4. beyond 2.4, this plugin doesn't work (well).
The maintainer of this plugin doesn't have any spare time left to maintain this plugin. So, until nobody else have the skills / knowledge and is willing to help Matt, I am afraid this is the end of this great plugin sad
Another plugin with the name "grade me" is available. except for one bug, that plugin seems to work for 2.6. nevertheless, that grade me plugin will lighten the grading work smile
I'm in Moodle 2.6.2, and although the proverbial AJAX wheel spins, none of the assignments I need to grade show up (there's "Total: 0" message). I am enrolled as Teacher. Is this plugin by chance not yet supported in 2.6?
Thanks for the help.
I have another problem I have not been able to solve: Strange characters are displayed when there is a tilde (aacute accent) or ñ (é instead of é, ñ instead of ñ...). The web server, database and all the tables are in UTF-8 ... The other blocks and modules that are installed are displayed correctly.
I tried to use the functions 'utf_decode', 'str_replace' or 'stripslashes', but nothing changes ... What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much for your time.
Hello Matt... I've installed this block on differents serves (Moodle 1.9) and I allways get the same error when clicking on the link that is on the name of each group: A pop-up window with the error message 'Course module is incorrect'.
The url in the pop-up has this format:
/mod/assignment/submissions.php?id=undefined&userid=undefined&mode=single&offset=0
Is there a quick way to override this link?
Thanks in advance for your time...
We are finding the same issue as Brent Sawatzky pointed out. Assignments submitted by certain students do not show up in the marking block. It is not assignment specific, but seems to be student related. Nothing we have tried, including resubmitting, refreshing, logging in \as the student and clicking on the Submit assignment button again seems to help. Has anyone found a resolution to this? As others have said, it works great otherwise.
Hi,
Just posted this https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=252281 any suggestions? BTW Great block. Cheers Nathan.
This Plugin is fantastic.
Is it planned to show Lesson Essay's that need grading too? These make up a part of our courses along with other assessment types.
Thanks
I've scanned the posts and can't find exactly what I need: It seems that Ajax will let me mark Forum posts, but it doesn't clear them from the marking list, and so I don't know what's marked or not. Has this been reported, or, is it on the "to-do" list? I'd love to help, but the last language I felt fluent in was Fortran!
I'd like to jump back to a comment I see by Dan Olson's (July24). In our program, we are all fans of this block and find that it works great 95% of the time. Our only concern comes from teachers who found that a few marking items don't show up in the block. It seems to be tied to the students more than the assignment, as the same students have problems in multiple assignments, where others are fine. Looking into it, we see nothing obviously different in the student accounts, so it's difficult to give you much. Thanks for the block and hoping this little issue can be resolved.
Hello Matt, I have a problem with displaying the Cyrillic alphabet in Moodle 1.9. Thanks!
Also, is there any way to add other mods to the list? I see in the latest release's README.txt file that it only supports assignment, forum, quiz and workshop. I'd love to see questionnaire & others added! Thank you again.
