Onetopic format

Maintained by David Herney
Course format that allows showing each topic in a tab, keeping the current tab between calls to resources, in such a way that when it returns from a module as the blog or the glossary it returns to tab from where you started. This format is based on the Moodle standard format: "Topics".

Hi David...
Yes, It is intentional. The Onetopic format don't add the news block and this block "build" the News forum.

Hi. Thanks for developing this very useful format. There is no News Forum by default, right? Was this intentional?

Hello, I have installed moodle 3.2.1+ and I need help to how to install the fix on this version of moodle.
Greets Jorge.
Nice, that they fixed it in the core of moodle. Then there is no need to change the tabobject anymore ;)
Greets Luuk
Hi Luuk...
It was fixed in Moodle directly by Stephen Bourget. You can check it in: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-57728

Hi, we made a tweak for a customer to let it work on Moodle 3.2
Sourcecode:
https://github.com/luukverhoeven/format_onetopic
We rebuild the tabs raw html to html with some extra javascript. Note: this is a workaround.
A better solution would be to use `html_writer::` instead of `tabobject()`.
The `tabobject` doesn't support raw html input in moodle 3.2+ anymore.
I hope this helps.
Hello,
I have detected a small problem with this version of onetopic for version 3.1.4+.
description of the problem
Context: Starting from a backup of a course made in the version of Moodle 2.7.3, then restoring it directly in the instance of Moodle 3.1.4, the course settings are configured to change the format of Theme to Format shape tabs Satisfactory.
For this moment the tabs are already visible and active each in the visual presentation of the course.
The problem is evident after editing any section or tab of the course (Select "Hide topic"). When selecting "Hide topic", the process is performed successfully by hiding the whole section or topic with their respective activities and resources, BUT when you want to re-activate the entire section or tab, the environment and the "Edit" link is blocked without allowing the Display and activate the "Activate theme" option.
I hope someone can similarly test my case, starting from a backup and restoration of a course from one version to another in moodle and later editing the course's asjustes to change the format of Theme to Eyelashes. So in this way they will be able to evidence my approach and finding when a section or theme is hidden and then intended to be activated again.
Thank you.
Hi,
We use your format very frequently so thanks for all the work! At the moment I am experiencing the same issue as Shalimar. The topics are showing as HTML code when using Moodle 3.2 with the Boost them. Would be very helpful if a new version with a fix could be added. Thanks again! Peter
Hello!!!
Cuando tienes pensada la liberación de este formato en Moodle 3.2?
Thanks!
Hello,
Installed it on my newly created 3.2 site hoping for the best while using the new Boost theme, but didn't quite work right. The content of the tabs is being rendered as html, not actually showing the HTML. Happy to send screenshots if that would be helpful.
Hoping for a new release soon smile
Thanks!
Hi, would like to say great plugin and thank you for continuing to provide support for it. We have been using it for a few years as the default course format! I am in the same boat as @Roger Flores, but I can see that you are implementing a fix in the next version.
Happy to up vote it if it helped in a tracker. Thanks again for this great plugin!
Hola David! ¡Saludos!
Hi David,
We've have a weird error using OneTopic: in two courses using OneTopic the section 0 is hidden to students. This section is special and in its settings there is no way to hide it (nor to make it visible again), so I don't know how has it ended that way but it's happened twice and both times it was using OneTopic so I guess it is something related to this course format.
I know it's very little information but I hope that with this clues you can find which the issue is...
TIA
Hi Roger...
What is the error message?
If you error is "Error code: sectionnotexist", it occur when the last section is deleted. You don't need change to another format, only need logout and login. I am going to have it present for a next version.
Saludos
Hey there,
First of all, great plugin but I have one issue. Whenever I try to delete one section within my course, I get an Error message. After getting the error message, none of the sections are displayed. I can make them appear only if I change the course format to any other. Do you know if there is any fix for this issue?
Cheers,
Roger
