JazzQuiz

JazzQuiz lets the teacher run a preplanned quiz, but with the power of improvisation. Several improvise questions are included, which lets you quickly run a multichoice or short answer question during the quiz. You can also start a vote on the students' responses. After the session, you can review the responses for each question (even repolls). You can also download reports for attendance or responses in CSV.

I think we fixed all the issues with Moodle 4, but we have not had time to test it properly. There are also a few loose ends that we wanted to tie up for both 3.9 and 4.x before we make the release. I hope we manage to do this in August.
You are most welcome to get the new version from the github repo and test it ... as I said, I think it works. There is a develop-moodle3 branch, so develop should be for moodle4. The same version will not work with both 3 and 4.

Following up on our discussions a few months ago, I would like to know if there have been any developments allowing questions to be drawn from different question bank categories.

I am not sure how much we time we have to work on this, but the coding might be simple if we figure out exactly how it should work.

When we started creating JazzQuiz, we left these use cases for the original ActiveQuiz plugin. Now I see that ActiveQuiz has not seen new releases since Moodle 3.2, i.e. about the time when we forked it. I would have preferred if ActiveQuiz continued to support that use case, but when it doesn't ... well ...
As for your question, I am thinking of using JazzQuiz as a challenge/game.
Here is one scenario:
You have a few minutes left to the end of the session with everything done and dusted. You ask your students, "Would you like to have a short fun quiz?" They never fails to say yes, obviously. You run your say 3-question quiz , with say 2 questions drawn at random from a "riddle/puzzle/trivia" category and one question drawn from a "serious learning" category, and the students will try to crack the quiz. Voilà, you've just had a fun and useful round-off to your session.
Here is another:
A weekly quiz, from Monday to Friday, one question per day, again with a mix of fun and serious questions, during which all are welcome to participate, with a sum-up posted every Saturday. The question time could be anywhere between 1 hour and 24 h, so say I run each question at 8 am and it will be open for 1 hour, or it will remain open until the next day.
And while we are at it, I do appreciate the usefulness and practicality of the "use case" approach. It pays to have focus. However, it also pays not to limit ourselves within the constraints of the initial use case we started with. So, if it doesn't take a lot of work to add a certain functionality, I find it quite reasonable to do so. This will allow users to come up with new and extended "use cases" we didn't think of in the first place. In other words, I see "use case" as a starting point to focus and shape our efforts, not as a rigid boundary. The former is necessary; the latter robs us of the potential to grow, expand, and evolve. I hope you agree.
If it's not practical to add the random question feature, I perfectly understand. If it is, please consider doing it.
The use case JazzQuiz is meant to serve is the spontaneous classroom discussion, where each question should be chosen in response to the preceeding answers, remarks, and discussion. Therefore we have emphasised the possibility of jumping in the list of prepared questions and to improvise questions. A random question would be ignoring the student input, and thus a bad idea in this particular use case.
What is your usecase?
1. It seems to be working well on 3.9.
2. Am I missing something or is it not possible to have random questions? If so, it would be great to have this possibility. It would really turbo-charge the plugin.

About deletion of reports, that will probably have to wait, but I'll look into it.
