Hello, I've just tested the plugin and seen that Moodle 3.5 says it does not implement the Moodle privacy API. I would think th plugin probably does not store any user data, but Moodle would need to be told that in the settings. Full compatibility with the latest privacy API is important on our new site. Could this glitch be removed in the near future? Thanks.
Hi to all of you, good people from emeneo,
I am wondering can you add as optional name of "Course Template" category. Here is explanation, we are using as central repository (live courses) category "Core", and from there backup and restore courses to "DEV" category (if ID need to work on them), or "RFD" (Ready For Deployment, if they need to be renewed). If you can create in settings of your plugin, to choose what category will be - Course Template - and we can choose our "Core" category, we don't need to have all copy of the courses in duplicates in two category (Core and Course Template), and additional trouble will be to keep tracking versions of the course. We will be setting our "Core" as Course Template, and just copy courses when we need them and where we need them.
That little thing will make your great plugin even more useful.
Cheers,
Hi Edd, the preview screen is not implemented yet. We are looking for funding for that. Please let me know if you are interested in funding that which would be great smile
Hi there. I am utilising this plugin over multiple servers but none of which seem to show a preview screenshot of the course templates like it is in the screenshot in the plugin description. I am using the latest version of the plugin, am I missing something obvious? Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi David, such role settings are explained in detail in our updated handbook ("Course templates handbook". You can find it here: http://www.emeneophttps://moodle.org/plugins/local_course_templates#lugins.chocolatelms.com/course/index.php?categoryid=5
Having a issue on duplicated role. I duplicated the course manager role to remove a number of unnecessary permissions to use in a new role. However, when a user with that role is attempting to create the course, the button changes to 'creating' and never finishes. I see two setting for course templates both are set to 'allow' in the new role. The ability to create courses is set to allow and individuals can create courses without using the template. I do notice the 'add course' menu option is missing from the new role so I am assuming their is a dependency somewhere?
When a course is created using a template, in the long name and short name form, there should be start and end date, as well. The template start and end dates should be displayed (if temp has no end date, no need) and admin can create a course with new dates.
Thank you for such a fast fix!!

Hi Emma and all, I have fixed the problem and the updated version is now available here for download smile
Thanks Flotter - I will be testing 3.4 shortly and will report back. If you could let me know when the corrected version is published, that would be great.
Please let me know in case you tested the plugin also for Moodle 3.4 Thanks a lot!
Hi Emma, Thanks a lot for the information regarding m33 and the bug
@version m33: I have updated the version compatibility. The plugin is now available up to moodle 3.3
@bug: This is a custom feature we implemented for a client. In their case, they always entered the same value for short and long name and asked us to only ask for the short name and to just populate the db for long and short name both with it. When we put it into the moodle db we only partly removed this specific customization. We will check it and publish a new version asap.
Found that line 29 in process.php references short name instead of full name but apparently it also incorrect in lib.php somewhere. Would appreciate any help on a fix. BTW, using on 3.3 - seems to work otherwise!
Just tried this out - excellent plugin - thank you. But...the course name is replaced by the short name entered on screen on creation.
