I have figured out a Bandaide solution to this: change the mod/journal:addentries access so that only the student role is set to "allow."

Adrian, do you know what code to change to get the list of entries to include only the students of a course and not the Teacher, Manager and site managers as it currently does? I'm willing to go an change code on my own, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what needs to change. I've even looked at other plugins that show only students on a review page and I cannot figure it out. We have released a new version that is compatible with Moodle 3.5.

Because the maintainers appear to be "on vacation" I started to look for a substitute and stumbled across some of the really old postings from the days that Journal was being replaced by Online Assignments. One thing mentioned, in a few posts, was seeing something similar to the Journals "overview" page on OAs. It was mentioned that OA would have a "quick view" to accomplish this, but it was never detailed. From what I can see there is no Quick View in OA. Is there??

It has now been 11 months since you last made any changes to this plugin - it still does not support 3.5 and is missing the privacy API. You stated in May 2018 that you would look at the privacy api within the next few days but you haven't provided any further updates to reported issues in github. If you are not able to support this plugin please pass it back to the community so someone else can do it properly.

Why does the view all journals view include non-enrolled users? It shows everyone who has high level access, but is not enrolled, with "No entry." This has some instructors worried that there are "lurkers" in the courses.

So, yesterday I reenabled it - haven't changed much on the site except to upgrade some other plugins. No more problems with cron - have no idea why I had problems initially but very happy to have journal back up and running! Originally, cron was stalling out on me. I turned debugging on and try to run it manually. It referenced journal in the debugging so I disabled and then cron ran fine. I wonder if getting cron through one run actually resolved the issue? Sorry, don't have more details as I now cannot replicate (which is a success in my book!!)

@Emma Did all cron jobs stop running? How were you able to determine that the journal plugin was the culprit? What were some of the symptoms?
I ask because we recently upgraded to 3.5 and thus far haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary but this has me concerned.

Any idea on when 3.5 version will be released - had to disable as there was a problem with the plugin that stopped cron from running...

Greetings, Is this supported by the Moodle Moblie app. Our users are receiving an unsupported error message from the app. We are on Moodle 3.1

We've updated the version number for Moodle 3.2 - 3.4 to fix the upgrade issues.

I upgraded Moodle without the Journal plugin and copied the pre-upgrade build to the mod directory - this seems to be working fine. Any gotchas I should be aware of?

I noticed that the Moodle 3.3 version sets the internal version 2017121101, but the Moodle 3.4 version sets the internal version 2017121100. That makes a Moodle 3.3 to Moodle 3.4 upgrade impossible with this plugin.
