tool_sentry

Simple Sentry plugin for Moodle, tested on Moodle 4.x.

It should work on previous Moodle versions, although it has not been fully tested. Currently requires PHP >= 7.3.

• Automatic Moodle component detection (moodle_component) for all captured events.


• Cron and task context enrichment, including task type, class, component, identifiers, and synthetic URLs for easier filtering and debugging.

• Replaced captureLastError() with a custom set_error_handler() implementation to report the real source file and line number of PHP errors.


• Fatal error handling now reports accurate file and line information when captured during shutdown.

Fixed

• Errors were previously reported as originating from helper.php regardless of their actual source.


• Suppressed errors (@) are now properly ignored according to error_reporting().


• Scheduled and adhoc task errors now include meaningful context instead of empty URLs.

Compatibility

• Task context support requires Moodle 3.7+.


• Backward compatibility is maintained through graceful fallbacks using method_exists() and class_exists().


• Does not interfere with Moodle's native error handling.
