Moodle is brilliant at sequencing content — prerequisites, restrictions, completion tracking — but the moment a real conversation needs to happen between teacher and student, it falls back on email. And email doesn't know your course exists: no order, no timing, no proof it was even read.
coursemail is the first Moodle plugin to turn messaging itself into a course activity, not a notification bolted onto one. It lives inside the course sequence like any lesson, quiz or assignment — with its own completion rules, access restrictions, and place in the timeline.
That single idea unlocks what plain email never could:
- 📬 A real mailbox, inside the course — threaded conversations, Inbox, Sent, Drafts and Starred folders, messages to one student, a group, or the whole class.
- " Read receipts and required replies — know for certain a message was read, or demand a reply before the student moves on.
