MWA Analytics Dashboard

MWA Analytics Dashboard is a free and open-source Learning Analytics block for Moodle that helps teachers understand student engagement, identify learners at risk, and take timely pedagogical action directly from the course environment.

Instead of navigating multiple reports, instructors can access a single dashboard that brings together Moodle logs, grades, activity completion, access patterns, interventions and AI-supported recommendations.

The plugin is designed to help teachers answer practical questions such as:

• Which students need immediate attention?
• Which activities are generating low engagement or poor performance?
• When are students most active in the course?
• What message or intervention should be sent now?
• How can course content and learning paths be improved using real data?

🎯 Action Center
A daily overview of urgent priorities, including students with low engagement, activities with low reach, sudden participation drops and suggested actions for quick intervention.

🔮 Engagement Prediction
A multidimensional engagement score based on grades, activity coverage and task delivery. Students are classified into low, medium or high participation, with AI-supported diagnosis and recommended actions.

📋 Activity Analysis
Detailed analysis of forums, assignments, quizzes, SCORM packages, H5P activities and other Moodle resources, showing who accessed, who submitted and who still needs support.

👤 Student CRM
Individual student profiles with access history, intervention records, activity calendar, performance indicators and personalised study plan generation.

📊 Grade Analytics
Grade distribution, student performance overview, approval status and native XLSX export without requiring external libraries.

🤖 AI Content Analysis
Optional AI-powered analysis to identify learning bottlenecks, low-access materials and opportunities to improve course design.

🔥 Access Heatmap
A day-and-hour access grid showing when students are most active, including suggestions for the best moments to communicate with the class.

🧭 Personalised Study Plan
AI-generated study plans for individual students, including content trail, suggested rhythm, learning style and immediate action.

💬 Chat with the Class Data
A conversational assistant that uses live course data as context, allowing teachers to ask questions about engagement, risk, activities and possible interventions.

✉️ Messaging and Interventions
Send messages through Moodle internal messaging or email, generate AI-assisted message drafts, record interventions and monitor student return after contact.

🔔 Behavioural Alerts
Automatic detection of relevant patterns such as students who viewed but did not submit, sudden access drops, symbolic access, reactivated students and night activity.

AI features are optional. All core dashboard features work without an AI server configured. When enabled, AI requires an external HTTP endpoint compatible with the MWA payload format, such as Google Gemini or OpenAI GPT models.
