eLeDia.ai Tutor

eLeDia.ai Tutor adds a secure, Moodle-native AI tutor experience to Moodle courses and dashboards. The plugin provides a configurable chat block that can be placed in courses, course pages or other Moodle contexts, allowing learners to interact with an AI tutor directly inside Moodle.

The plugin itself acts as a frontend and secure server-side connector. It does not implement retrieval-augmented generation or LLM processing on its own. Instead, it connects Moodle to external RAG and MCP services, so course content, Moodle tools and other learning resources can be made available to the tutor through a controlled backend architecture.

Administrators can configure the tutor centrally, including technical connection settings, availability, privacy notices, tutor behaviour and visual appearance. Reusable tutor profiles and design presets can be managed through the plugin interface, making it possible to provide a consistent tutor experience across a Moodle site while still allowing selected settings to be adjusted per block instance.

The tutor can be used for course-aware learning support, general questions, guided interaction with Moodle resources and AI-assisted learner orientation. Depending on the connected backend services, the tutor can retrieve course context, use Moodle tools through MCP and provide answers that are grounded in indexed course material.

Security and privacy are central design goals. Service credentials, MCP tokens and backend connection details remain on the Moodle server and are not exposed to the browser. The plugin includes server-side access control, consent handling, privacy provider support and configurable data handling options.

For full functionality, the plugin is typically used together with the eLeDia MCP connector, LiteRAG and RAG-Ingest. If these optional companion services are missing, the plugin displays setup guidance and can degrade gracefully instead of breaking the Moodle installation.
