SRL Advisor

SRL Advisor adds self-regulated-learning support to Moodle courses: consent-gated behavioural telemetry, inline reflection check-ins, and a navigation badge that links students to the SRL Advisor web app.

This release

• Consent gate (IRB/GDPR): passive telemetry (scroll, video, download, clipboard) is injected only for students with an active consent record. Non-consented or withdrawn students transmit nothing — the gate stops transmission at the source and fails closed on backend errors.


• Inline reflection check-ins (pre/post) on activity pages.


• Navigation badge + launch bridge to the SRL Advisor portal, using a pseudonymous, JWT-authenticated hand-off (no real user IDs sent).


• Privacy API metadata provider declaring every field transmitted to the external backend. The plugin stores no personal data in Moodle's own database.


• Compatibility: Moodle 4.5 LTS through 5.2; PHP 8.1–8.4; PostgreSQL and MariaDB/MySQL.

Quality: passes the full moodle-plugin-ci suite (phpcs, phpdoc, phpunit, behat, grunt, mustache) across Moodle 4.5→5.2 × pgsql/mariadb; functionally validated on 4.5.8 and 5.2.0.

Note: requires the SRL Advisor backend web application (URL + API token set in plugin settings).
