Subcourse

Maintained by Dan Marsden, Catalyst IT
Subcourse behaves as a graded activity. The grade for each student is automatically fetched from a final grade in another course. This allows course designers to organize the learning content into separate units.

The misspelled word "currrent" fixed in the version 5.0.1. Thanks again.

Wow - that typo has been there since 2013 and no one noticed! (or they did but did not bother to report back to me, shame on them! wink) Thanks Brandon, I'm going to fix that asap. Meanwhile, you should be able to fix it for your own site either by language pack customization feature, or by editing the file mod/subcourse/lang/en/subcourse.php

Hi, We noticed that current is misspelled in "Your currrent grade is... (there are 3 r's). Is this corrected in an updated version, or can you let me know where we can go to correct it in the plugin? Thanks.

Thanks. Can you elaborate what exactly you mean by that?

It would be good to add the possibility of exporting also the assessment for the element of the course

Sorry if the description was not clear and confused you. There is no setting for it. Every time a user is graded in a subcourse, their final grade is updated. Additionally, if you have a cron enabled (which may or may not be the case at your DEV site), there is a task (running hourly by default) to synchronize the grades.

Hello,
We just installed this on our dev site to see if this could help with grouping grades for a few subcourses into one main course. I can see that according to the summary on this page that the grades are fetched automatically or manually" but I can't find the way to make it automatic? I must be missing something very simple. Where's this setting hiding? Am I just being impatient and need to wait a bit?
Cheers.
Rob

Thanks Stefan. Please open a new ticket for the feature request in the plugin's bug tracker at github where we can discuss details of it. I will be wondering what particular feature will be useful to add (just jumping to the subcourse?) as most of this plugin's functionality is server-side.

Hi everybody!
I really love this plugin and would like to see it working inside the moodle mobile app! Is there a chance to see this functionality in the short future?
Best regards,
Stefan

Thanks for letting me know Rui. Hope you sorted your issue out. Good luck!

Hi, I reported earlier about a bug that was related to this plugin but I just discovered I was wrong and the problem is elsewhere. I'm sorry and hope I didn't trouble you. Best regards, Rui

See the checkbox "Redirect to the referenced course" and its associated help text. Hope it helps.

Please, tell me how to go to subcourse by one click on the link (without additional, in the screenshot №3)? Thanks

A new version v4.0.1 released for Moodle 3.1 and 3.2. The only change from v4.0.0 is in the syntax of Behat tests so both versions should work well for recent Moodle versions.

@Ricardo, any help with testing the plugin in Moodle 3.2 and reporting results will be appreciated. I am going to check all my plugins compatibility asap, but there are others' plugins that need my attention too.

@Richard, no. The module is designed to fetch the other course's final grade only.
