Installing a local version of Red5+PoodLL is a good option, if you need to do that. But it requires a fair amount of skill to set up, and it is really for people working with strict privacy requirements, or who need greater speed and reliability than the tokyo.poodll.com server.
In your situation I think you may have other options to check on first. Can you record with the http://demo.poodll.com server ? Is your moodle accessible from other machines on the network? Have you muddled with the settings on the poodll filter settings page? (check demo.poodll.com for working settings)
Hi Justin, thanks for the answer! You are right, i can't get a connection to the red5 server. I don't know what's happening. Can I, in some way, use another video server to make the video records? Maybe using a local repository or something like that, or installing in my local another kind of video server. Can you help me with that?
This occurs when you cannot get a connection to the Red5 server. This could occur because of your own network connectivity issues, or because of problems on PoodLL's Tokyo Red5 server, or because of configuration problems.
Actually it is most likely the Tokyo server was overloaded. It happens from time to time. But if the problem persists, check your internet connection and make sure your poodll filter settings for Red5 are ok. Check the settings and connectivity at http://demo.poodll.com to see a reference site.
Hi!
I'm having some troubles when I try to record a video from forum or other tools. I installed all the Poodll package and when i try to record a video, the "record button" is not avaiable to click. Instead, appears a yellow triangle. He is a print screen of the problem:
As you can see, i can't record the video because que red circle buttom is not avaiable. Can anyone tell me what is the problem?
Thansk!
I think you mean that in some places in Moodle, the PoodLL icons don't appear.
That is because those areas do not accept file uploads/attachments. So you are also unable to access the repository system from the Moodle Media or Moodle Image icons, in those locations.
In that case there is not much we can do. But it is possible to use the PoodLL Feedback plugin in the assignment at least to give audio/video feedback.
There is the possibility of the bar is available at the time of the feedback of the task?
Thanks for working on an Atto version of this plugin - it looks great.
Hi Justin. Unless Damyon was involved in this plugin development, you should mention yourself as the @copyright holder in the YUI JS
files. I was not able to make my inbuilt webcam and microphone working on my machine but I suspect it might be the Flash issue. The
drawing feature works well. You may want to consider re-designing the Atto toolbar button images/icons as your currently do not fit
quite well the style of others. The code looks ok (as usually wink) so I'm happy to announce you are cleared to land. Welcome to
