Okay, it makes me so angry to come here to tell everyone that this Reengagement plugin is really broken. I spent the past 3 hours trying to set up the reminder for the quiz that is passed due dates. Everytime I re-save the data notify time and completion time disappear despite I inputted back the original data. This is really frustrating because I thought Catalyst IT team produces the best plugins in the Moodle world. Anyway, I am going for another plugin that does the reminder system now.
4.3.3 (Build: 20240212)
mariadb (10.4.28-MariaDB)
php 8.2.4
Good day! There seems to be an error here.... https://fex.net/uk/s/z07sx9l
Hey guys, we’ve noticed an odd issue with this plugin, where Moodle says there's a lot more people enrolled to the activity than there actually are (in the example I have, the activity says there’s 14 students enrolled when there’s actually only two). In this same course we also came across an issue where the notification was set to be sent after a delay of 10 minutes, but the activity seems to have randomly copied the notification time and date from the activity of a separate course. Have you come across these issues before? How should we troubleshoot them?
@John - nice to here you find it useful. Yes that "should" work but you will need to create those restictions at the time of creating the re-engagment. Once the re-engagement queues up the users that are related, changing the settings for that re-engagment doesn't always affect the users already queued up in the system to be notified. There are a few open issues in the tracker related to this like: https://github.com/catalyst/moodle-mod_reengagement/issues/52
I started using this activity recently - it is great, thank you Catalyst IT. If were to add a "Access Restriction" based on a course group, would that filter the reengagement email to that group ?
@steffen, the latest version of all our plugins will always be in github. Please look at our issues tracker for any known issues with newer releases and test it yourself and report any issues you find. We do not regularly push new releases to the moodle.org plugins db.
We are not able to provide guarantees around deadlines for version support except to clients that pay for our time.
Hi Peter Bulmer and the team behind reengagement,
When will reengagement support Moodle 4.2?
Best,
SL
I can't think of an easy way to do this - although there might be other 3rd party plugins that do this - try asking in the forums?
Hi, Is it possible to set reengagement activity in a course for a student based on his last access date to the course. If yes please let me know how we can set that up.
@Sebastian - the placeholder for courseid should allow you to create a course url.
Hi ! Is there a placeholder for the course URL ?
Hi Team, This plugin is super useful. We are facing 2 issues while using it 1) The activity count gets added on the course overview page 2) The activity is getting marked as complete automatically. But when I make some changes in the settings like reengagement duration updates the progress on the user side.
Hi, I can't figure out how to interpret the timestamps in the detail page. Sometimes both email sent and achievement are the same, sometimes achievement is after email sent, it is after. And also, sometimes theses timestamps are set to 1969-12-31, sometimes they are in the future, and sometimes in the past.
Can you help me figure this out?
Thanks!
@Aziz - it's a sign your cron processes aren't running regularly - try asking in the forums for further help on how to check cron is set up correctly as many other things in your site may not be functioning correctly.
