Thanks Enovation team. For what it is worth.. I managed to downgrade the PHP to 7.4, and also installed Moodle 3.9 next to my 3.11, and had the same issue, with same output.. Will continue to work on it..
Sorry unable to estimate at present
Thanks and understood, Enovation team. More to give me an idea of what path/solution/option I should focus on, and with Moodle 3.11 supporting PHP8, would you be in a position to say (roughly) if/when you may be willing to look at this type of enhancement/upgrade?
Hi Greg,
The plugin is not tested to work with php8 and most probably that's the issue. Upgrading it will take time
Hmm.. I might be stuck, I'm using PHP 8 on Apache, so don't think I can do that (test 3.9) with any ease..
Thanks Enovation team, for the quick reply.
It is the message in the resume function in simplesamlphp/modules/lib/Auth/Source/external.php", and based on a connection to a separate SP (not a local Moodle).
I'll try on an older Moodle, per your suggestion, and see if this works.
Hi Greg,
We haven't tested the plugin with Moodle 3.11 yet, so no data if it should work or not. Would you want to try an identical configuration with Moodle 3.9 and see if that works?
Where do you get the "User not authenticated after login page" error? using a separate SimpleSAMLphp instance or a separate Moodle?
Hi Enovation team!
Sorry for the message, but I have Moodle 3.11.4+, and trying to get the plugin working, to allow Moodle to be the IdP.
Do you know whether the plugin works with this version of Moodle?
SimpleSAML is working, using its test option.
But when trying to connect to Moodle, I am getting the error "User not authenticated after login page"
I can see the SQL (MySQL) simplesamlphp_kbstore table updating with session details.
Plus, I've tried to debug this and can see the "resume" function is receiving only:
{"State":"_a63094becf3016a20e6f55a1506430b303c826bebb:https:\/\/MYSERVER\/simplesaml\/module.php\/core\/as_login.php?AuthId=moodle-userpass&ReturnTo=https%3A%2F%2FMYSERVER%2Fsimplesaml%2Fmodule.php%2Fcore%2Fauthenticate.php%3Fas%3Dmoodle-userpass"}
Hoping you may have some thoughts..
Thanks in advance!
Greg
Hi, yes it seems to be normal.
The functionality of the plugin can be switched off/on in Plugins->Authentication->Manage authentication - so it's only important to have it enabled there
Hi !
i have the module 'disabled' on plugins list, is this normal ? i see no enable button.
Thanks for help
Thank you very much! So exciting! I will let you know!
Hi Kate,
Just published the new version. It's not changed much functionally, just made compatible with the most recent Moodles
