I have received students feedback that they have received email reminder of events that are not belong to their own group. And it is strange that not all students received the reminder, some did, some didn't. Is this an existing issue or maybe somewhere in the setting I need to tick to enable group-wise reminder? many thanks.
This has been fixed in v2.2.1. Please update.
Thanks for reporting. Will be fixed with a new release soon.
We've started using this plug-in and we experience the following issue: in a course we have Course event reminders enabled. I have disabled reminders for a course event which is a calendar entry. However, the plugin still sends email reminders. All reminders for the respective event are off. Thanks.
Thanks for reporting this. I'll look into it. This was on option when I used at very first plugin version. It seems some of them are not working as expected anymore in newer moodle versions. Let me check. If I could find a way to find the course teacher's email using a moodle core function, then I could integrate into the plugin easily.
Thanks for reporting.
Sorry to add to my inquiry here...I became aware of this issue because:
I have set "Send as no reply address" and included a "No reply name" but e-mails sent out are not using the no reply name and are instead being sent with the site admin name. This confuses students so I would like to either use a generic name (site name) or, ideally, be able to send messages with the teacher name...at least for course level notifications.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Thanks so much for this fabulous plugin. I have a small issue that seems like it should be relatively easy to 'fix'. When e-mails are sent as a result of an event in a course calendar, I would like the e-mail to be sent to display the course teacher's e-mail address instead of the site admin...like when a forum post e-mail is sent. Is there a way to change this plugin to use the course teacher's e-mail instead of site admin e-mail when sending an e-mail for a course level event?
Any help you can provide will be most appreciated.
I am not sure the email contents are in admin reports UI, however they are stored in a core database table called 'notifications'. You should check that out.
This is Pradeep from Texila American University,
Is it possible to pull the report for the reminders email from administrator login
I also just observed that hiding courses do not hide events (mark as visible '0') belongs to that particular course in events table. Because sending reminders is based on this 'visible' field on the event table.
I believe this needs to clarify from Moodle core developers whether it is a bug or not.
I have a hidden course and an activity with an end date after the current day. I have a reminder created for that assignment, no student can see the assignment or event on the calendar, because it is hidden. But the reminder always sent the email to students.
Within the settings for Reminders, the 'Filter calendar events' is set to 'Only visible events in the calendar'
moodle v3.8
Reminder v2.2
Any help is welcome.
Yes, I noticed it today after reported by Dave Foord. The reason is that this plugin has never been tested against any 3rd party plugins, which is completely out of control. Meanwhile, I noticed that BigBlue button is using a different event type called 'meeting_start' as their event type in the database tables rather than using conventional event types used for activities or courses.
Anyway, I'll try to do my best to provide a controllable way quickly.
Thanks.
There is an issue with the Event Reminders and the Big Blue Button activity for Moodle. When enabling a schedule within the BBB activity settings, a calendar event is created successfully and reminders are sent. However, the Reminders plug-in fails to recognise these BBB-derived calendar events (they simply do not appear) and thus there is no control over the reminders. We use:
Moodle v3.7.5
Reminders v2.1.2
BigBlueButton v2.3.3
We hope this can be addressed soon ad currently reminders reminders from BBB activity cannot be controlled.
Thanks!
