I'm currently testing the WIRIS editor plugins. I can't seem to get the Wiris editor buttons to appear in Atto editor. Also, no buttons that are in place AFTER the WIRIS entry (on Toolbar config) are rendered on the toolbar either.
I see some JS errors in Chromes console (attached) which is referring to the only button (HTML) to be rendered AFTER the WIRIS button:

If I remove WIRIS from toolbar config, everything else renders fine and the above JS error doesn't appear.
Filter is enabled correctly, MathJax is disabled and the editor and buttons appear correctly on TinyMCE editor.
Anyone have any ideas??
@Matthew Wilson:
Please check if WIRIS is present at http:///admin/settings.php?section=editorsettingsatto under "Toolbar config".
You should see a line "math = wiris", if it is not present please add it.
I cannot find the WIRIS button on the ATTO toolbar. The filter is enabled and WIRIS says it is installed correctly.
@HAJA MARICAR We understand you are trying to install WIRIS quizzes using the "Install add-ons" feature from Moodle's user interface.
Unfortunately, that installation method is not currently possible for WIRIS quizzes.
You need to install WIRIS quizzes manually as described at http://www.wiris.com/en/quizzes/docs/moodle/install
Hi everyone,
Aplogise if this issue has been raised up.. i try to make sense of the above dicussion without success. I am very new to moodle and do not understand technical language too much. I am trying to create a maths course
in moodle and i wish to install this plugin. I had succefully installed WIRIS plugin filter and WIRIS plugin for Atto editor. However when i try to install WIRIS quizzes at first it prompts me to manually update the plugin type. And after i chose 'Question type' i am still unable install. I get this error prompt.
Validating qtype_type ... Error
[Error] File version.php not found [null]
Installation aborted due to validation failure
By default WIRIS works with an auto-italic mode with the MATH PALETTE.
http://www.wiris.com/en/editor/docs/manual/autoitalics
That feature is not activated in the CHEMISTRY PALETTE. Hence you should be have to upright lower-case greek letters.
You can have a try in the demo http://www.wiris.com/plugins/demo/chemistry/
Yes, the update fixes that for me. Thanks for your prompt work. Good to see the new Chemistry editing features.
One other thing, which may also relevant for the Maths editor. Is there a way to chose upright (rather than italic) lower-case greek letters?
I appreciate the convention for maths variables is to use italic lower case greek letters and that you already have an upright lower case pi constant, but upright lower-case greek characters would be useful for some chemical nomenclature, physical constants etc.
@Geoffry: Thanks for your feedback. The new version fix the issue.
Latest version is missing the title string for the new chemistry editor button (on atto editor toolbar).

Hi Matthew,
HAND & EDITOR will be 'merged' very soon. We still have to decide the concrete terms. It may be the case that depending on the device (touchable vs desktop) the default mode is handwriting or palette based.
If you want to discuss licensing terms the best option is that you send a message to sales@wiris.com
What is the plan for WIRIS Hand? I have created an addition to the existing plugins (as a proof of concept), that adds a hand icon in the text editors. It pops up a window with the WIRIS hand embedded, and then grabs the MathML and places it in the editor. Works great, just wondering if that is going to be included in the WIRIS editor at some point or what the licensing requirements are to actually put it into production.
@Nguyễn Please note that in order to install atto_wiris you also need to install filter_wiris (https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=filter_wiris)
Hi!
I can't install WIRIS plugin for Atto - Maths in moodle 2.8. it has information: Dependencies check failed for atto_wiris?
thansk!
@Léo
Alternatively, you can check how many files are stored in //filter/wiris/formulas directory. If you have never cleared WIRIS cache in your Moodle site, this would be the number of formulas you have created.
There's no solution to verify it myself ?
it would be great if it there was a solution to check ownself that.
