Thanks, Tim! What a great tool. Works as advertised! Was a lot faster than opening 80+ tabs.
From a lowly user, here's a suggestion -- list the Activities (still grouped by Sections) with a checkbox beside each Section and each Activity (ala the Import page), and then put the settings ONCE up top. The idea would be you would modify the settings you want, and then check all of the Activities you would want those settings to apply to, then click "Save." I think this would be significantly faster for the user in some cases.
The case where it would not be faster (that I can think of) would be if you are changing many activities so that EACH activity has a separate date or time. But if there is any grouping what-so-ever (say, half of the activities per section have the same date and time), I think you would see significant speed.
But beggars can't be choosers, eh!
As a side note, I proposed in some forum post somewhere the idea of "Templates" for Activities, so that you could go to a page and modify all of the settings for, say, some or all of the Quizzes in your class. This would look very much like what you've already created with my above suggestion for how to apply the changes to many Activities at once. I can see how that would become very, very complex, and the only reason I'm mentioning it is because this seems to be along those lines.
Thanks again!
Thanks to prompting from Charles Fulton and Kevin Wiliarty, I have uploaded a version of the v2.1 release that should be compatible with Moodle 2.2 - 2.4. That goes with the 2.5-compabilt version that was already there.
For very large courses, the disabledIf conditions between the settings get very, very slow for large courses, so there is a limit. If you like experiment with editing REPORT_EDITDATES_ENABLE_FILTER_THRESHOLD at the top of index.php. You may find a bitter setting is safe. (If so, we might increase this setting for everyone.)
We love the report. Are there plans to be able to "VIEW ALL" using the activity type drop down menu so that instructors can see their entire semester of activities? We have had several requests for this feature. Thanks.
@Michael, read the three comments immediately above yours. (This was found and fixed yesterday. I'm sorry I screwed up. You need to go back to the previous version.)
Hi, our 2.4.5+ installation prompted us to download and install this update, but it no longer works. With debugging turned up to full 'developer' mode, I still only get 'Server Error' in Chrome - no moodle call trace at all. Is it possible to ensure the 2.5 related changes only prompt 2.5 installations to upgrade?
Yup, I did set the old version back and it works.
Ah, so the latest version only works on Moodle 2.5. Sorry.
Dodaj komentar...well, added ou wiki and got Fatal error: Call to undefined method MoodleQuickForm::setExpanded() in C:\MoodleWindowsInstaller\server\moodle\report\editdates\form.php on line 66
It should not be necessary to have ouwiki installed.
A blank screen tells us nothing. Please turn on Debugging.
Hi, we updated the plug-in today (moodle 2.4.5+), same error: blank screen, we have questionnaire installed, but no ouwiki. is it really necessary to have ouwiki one installed?
I just uploaded a new version of the plugin that should fix the problem you are seeing.
I am finding that the dates report does not show cut-off dates for assignments in Moodle 2.4.5. I have the 2012080700 version of the report plugin. I can edit the opening time for assignment submissions and the due date, but there is no interface to edit the cut-off date. When I do use the dates report to change the opening time or due date, the cut-off date remains unchanged, and can be earlier than the opening time.
Thanks Tim. Turned on debugging and found out that I was missing ouwiki and questionnaire. After installing these editdates works like a dream. A plugin that many of us needed very badly. Thanks a million.
Please turn on Debugging. Then you will get an error message rather than a blank screen.
