Your students earned those certificates. They shouldn't disappear when a course gets deleted.
Certificate History captures every mod_customcert issuance as a permanent snapshot the moment it is issued — metadata, student details, and a rendered PDF — completely independent of the original course or user account. Delete the course, delete the user, it doesn't matter. The record stays.

Features:
- Certificates are preserved forever, even after course or account deletion
- Students can view their full history from their Moodle profile under "My Certificate History"
- Public verification page — anyone can confirm a certificate is authentic using its unique code, no login required
- Retroactive backfill on first install — existing certificates are imported automatically, nothing is lost
- Admin search page with filters across all users, courses, and certificate names
- Web service API for external integrations — fetch certificate lists or retrieve PDFs as base64
