Hello Kris, the new version still has a postgres error when replying to forum post. I have mad an entry in the bug tracker.

A new version of this plugin for Moodle 2.9 has been uploaded to the plugins repository. Corresponding repositories on Github have also been updated. There are no known issues with the new version at this time, but if you do experience a problem please ensure that you submit any issues to tracker.moodle.org.

Hi Chris/Kris -- Love the Advanced Forums... I can't believe there was a time I never used it! Suggestion: are there any intentions on updating the icon for Advanced Forums? It's very blurry which makes it look like a poor icon next to the standard icons. Also, the red orange/ green colors kind of clash. I have a Hosted moodle so can't update the icon, but I wanted to bring up my suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Kris, we are using Moodle 2.8.4 and have some problems with the 2.7 version of the plugin. We would also like to keep our plugin version up-to-date. We are not slated to upgrade our Moodle sites until the new year. I understand that this fact likely is the core problem, but do we have any options? Thanks

Hi, will this plugin be upgraded to 2.9?

I have installed on both moodle 2.7 and 2.8 using iis8 and ms sql 2012 and php 5.5.23 to test. I can enter forum comments with no problems but when I enter a comment on an existing comment it give the error "cannot read the database" and breaks the forum.
Any ideals what would be causing this as I need to move it into production. mark

Anyone who knows how to find someone forum please help me. I am looking for Pat Tate forum.

I'm very surprised and don't believe that moodle forums lack "VIEWS" column; Discussion - Started by - Replies - (VIEWS???) - Last post while other open sources do. When I browse threads in forums, I often stop and read the threads with a lot of VIEWS or REPLIES - HOT threads. How can I know my students and colleagues read a certain thread? Don't ask me to have a look at LOGS!!! Very inconvenience! plz, make moodle forums look like any other forums and more functional!!!

I agree with Phuong -- embedding videos and images is an essential part of the standard forum. Many of our instructors want to switch to the advanced forum for the added functionality of private replies and anonymous posting. However, many are hesitant to switch because of this lack of functionality.
Not sure if others are experiencing a similar issue, but another challenge is that the Advanced Editor is not loaded by default when composing a forum post (Moodle using ATTO editor). We would really appreciate having the advanced editor as the default.

I'm very happy when hearing that we have advanced forums with a lot of new features. Thanks for your contribution. However, I think advanced forums lack several necessary features in Text editor such as; embed google docs, slideshare, swf, flash etc. Forum users need these features to share a wide variety of materials. Why don't we integrate them directly into advanced forums instead of installing many troublesome plugins.
