Videofile

I am looking to upgrade my video playing and am confused on what to do. I installed the plugin, but do not know what to do next. When I look at my current videos I see the following for page content on the page the video plays in:

Can anyone tell me what to change it to in order for it to play via the videofile plugin?

German, I tested it in iOS7 yesterday and although subtitles/captions are supported there generally now, I can't get videojs to show captions. I will file a bug report/pull request once I figure out what is actually happening.

Captions work well with Internet Explorer 10. Documentation updated.

Html5 captioning does seem to be limited overall on iOS6. Luckily, it seems to work in iOS7 so in the near future iPads should work too.

I finished testing this add-on on several devices:
Captions available:
Captions work well with the following Windows browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Safari.
Captions work well with the following Mac browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Safari
Captions work well in Ubuntu Linux using Firefox.
Captions not available:
Captions are not available in iPads with iOS6 using Safari.

PLEASE upgrade to 0.30 if you're running an older version. It fixes problems with site backups.
I hadn't realized that every plugin takes responsibility for their own backups and can't just leverage the generic backup functionality. I'm very sorry, with version 0.30 backups are working as they should.

I just translated it into mexican spanish via AMOS (http://lang.moodle.org/) and the translation works well also.

Jonas - Thanks for updating the repository names. I will go ahead and approve this plugin. The file I uploaded was a sample.mp4 file but I was also having trouble playing the file on the home page of the videojs website in Chrome so I presume it is just a Chrome issue. Here is some more details about the version I am using:

I've renamed the Github repository and hopefully changed all the links in the plugin information to mirror it. I'll also try to get some documentation up on docs.moodle.org later today.
As regards to the video issue in Chrome on Ubuntu 13.04 — I found this (closed) issue in the Video.js repo: https://github.com/videojs/video.js/issues/651 — do you remember if that seems like the problems you experienced? Also, if you could remember what kind of video you tried it with (h.264, webm, etc.), that would be great. I'll have to get a virtual machine of Ubuntu 13.04 running so I can try it myself but it's good to have some idea of where I should start looking.

Oops, I forgot to ask if you wanted to rename the Github repository to follow the Moodle naming convention of moodle-{type}_{name} so in this case moodle-mod_videofile. It is not required but it is a small detail that helps keep things consistent for site administrators. Let me know either way and then we can get this plugin approved.

Jonas - Many thanks for sharing this plugin with the Moodle community. I have installed and tested the plugin and it installs fine. The video didn't seem to play back in Chrome but it did in FF so I'm just assuming it is a Chrome thing (under Ubuntu 13.04). Ideally I like to encourage folks to provide some documentation so if you would like to create a page in Moodle Docs. Some suggestions for that can be found at http://docs.moodle.org/dev/Plugin_documentation. I'm going to approve this plugin.
