Hi Doug,
I answered in the forum.

Hi,
...probably this is not a bug, but I need some help here
I want make the visibility of a section in a course subject to if the user has registered via
the booking plugin. So I creaed a booking element in an instance of the booking plugin in the
same course. Then I set a restriction in the config of the section:
Show only if "booking-instance"-name is marked as complete.
Now user register. We mark their registration as complete.
however, wether a user has made a bookig or not. The section always gets shown.
How can I use a restriction of the booking plugin here in order to
to handle the visibility of another element...?
I tried to describe this here as well

...would be grateful, if you can get me started !
Best,
Doug
@Antoine: Please write to info@edulabs.org
@Mike: I do not think I understand correctly. You can add the booking activity in the main menu on the frontpage or as activity on the frontpage (Maybe stealth activity). Then you can link there from anywhere. Also you could create a course with open access, that is reserved for bookings, and have the booking activity placed there.
Concerning: Single activity booking: You could make courses in "Single activity format", that's a course format, that transforms a course into a single activity.
You cann add multiple fields to a booking. You have to have a closer look at booking instance settings and also in the overall admin settings of the booking module at site admin level.
Not sure, if that answers your questions...
Kind regards,
David
Hello, I was just trying out the plugin for a specific purpose: setting up a booking for a large concurrent user quiz slot, so not entirely sure if appropriate for this plugin, but wondered if there was a way to set it up for that? Have a booking set up, with booking options: slot 1, 2 etc - i don't want it for a specific course but at a site level so a teacher can book a time slot - so my problem is that i can capture a booking but am not sure how to capture the course the booking is for. Is there some way to add some free text in a field in the booking option so that it could be captured with the booking? Hope that makes some sense. cheers
Do we know how much it would cost to fund the Moodle 3.8 version or if anyone has started?
Dear Mustafa, the issue is fixed in v5.9-Nairobi.
Dear Mustafa, I will fix this asap.
When trying to use activity completion for the booking. Instead of a confirm completion status button, I see an (un)confirm completion status button. When I click on this button it does nothing to the completion status but gives me a message "New numbers have been generated." Please let me know what I am doing wrong?
Thanks David. That has worked perfectly for us.
Dear Johann,
there are several ways to fix your problem. One would be to award a badge upon quiz completion to a user and use the availability condition in order to make the booking visible: https://moodle.org/plugins/availability_badge
This would be one of several possibilities, hope that helps.
Kind regards,
David
Dear Ian,
thank you for your improvement suggestions. Actually it is already possible to customise the fields to be included in the sign-in sheet. Just have a look at the booking instance settings under "Fields to display in different contexts"
Kind regards,
David
Our college loves the booking module. It has saved a lot of manual work.
One thing we thought could be good to include in future versions is a way to customize the pdf paper based sign-in sheet. For our college, we would only need a few of the fields. We have worked around this by downloading the csv and removing the columns not needed but just thought to make the suggestion.
Hi,
for our summer school we made a course room. The booking for
the summer school we manage via a booking-activity in
that course room. Pre-condition in order to be able to book
for the summer school is the passing of a language test (Quiz-Activity)
in the same course room. It is possible to configure the
booking plugin, to only accept users for the summer school
that have passed tha language-quiz in that course room.
That works fine ...
Our prob is that we want users having passed a quiz in a different
course room. We can't copy that quiz. Is possible to make also
this quiz from a dfferent course room mandatory for the
booking ? Ideas ? Can we maybe link to that quiz.
Thanks a lot !
Best,
Johann
Hi Adam,
there is a bad translation. Actually you can assign users for managing a booking option within the booking option. So that booking option manager is called teacher, but also there is the course role teacher. So maybe you have to assign a booking option manager to the booking option to make the replacement work.
Kind regards,
David
Hi David,
Im strugglign with a couple of things, i cant get the e-mail placeholder to use {teacher} it always displays {teacher} and not who is assigned to the booking.
I cant seem to get it to e-mail the teacher who is assigned to that booking either, i can get it sent to the booking manager but not the teacher who created it. Am i missing something?
Regards,
Adam
