The error message I am getting is, "An error occured with Zoom" when I try to add a meeting. In the plugin configuration it says my connection status is working.
I am getting the
"You are using Zoom for the first time, so you must enable your Zoom account by logging in to https://zoom.us/j/8958668151 with your login credentials. Once you've activated your Zoom account, reload this page and continue setting up your meeting."
I checked my connection status and it is fine. I am currently on the Pro plan and was using the Rest API keys. What is the issue?
Thanks
Stephanie, we need to have a way to match a Zoom user to a Moodle user, because only certain people (PRO) users have the ability to create meetings. We use SSO, so that's how we match Zoom users to the Moodle user. But the plugin also supports matching users by their email address. But if both cases fails to find a user, the plugin will ask the user to login to Zoom to create an account that matches their Moodle account. Try having the users change their Zoom account to share same email as it is in Moodle.
Liz, you need to be using a Zoom account with API access.
Hi, i'm also having the same issue as Stephanie and Matias above: ""You are using Zoom for the first time, so you must enable your Zoom account by logging in to https://zoom.us/ with your login credentials. Once you've activated your Zoom account, reload this page and continue setting up your meeting."
Can someone please help? I am on the basic Zoom plan.
Hi Rex, we seem to be having an issue. The activity module states "You are using Zoom for the first time, so you must enable your Zoom account by logging in to with your login credentials. Once you've activated your Zoom account, reload this page and continue setting up your meeting." I have logged into Zoom (desktop and web client) and still am unable to use the activity feature. The LTI (external tool) works fine. Our university uses Single Sign On (Active Directory) and currently our Zoom account is not configured to allow SSO. User passwords for Zoom may differ from their univeristy/Moodle account passwords. Any insite?
Erez, the recording will still not be automatic, because you will need to still turn on recording and specify a destination. Handling recordings is something that is out of scope for this plugin. Everyone will need to figure out their own solution that works best for them.
Hello Rex,
I was wondering - say I have a folder on my computer that gets automatically synced to my Dropbox/Google Drive. If I set that as a destination for local recording, could that serve as a workaround for the aforementioned 'automation'?
Acorn Labs, recording is done on the Zoom side either via local (https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362473-Local-Recording) or cloud (https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/203741855-Cloud-Recording).
We cannot get the cloud recordings via the Zoom API. You can do a local or cloud recording and then manually upload them to the Zoom meeting description as a video file. But there is no automated way to handle recordings.
Dear Rex,
Hope you are doing well,
Than you for the excellent module of zoom,
I would like to know that can we do live session recording directly on moodle or any other FTP?
I look forward to hearing from you
Matias, in the newest version of the plugin if you got to: Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Zoom meeting
If your API keys are working you should see "Connection status: Connection working.".
If so, is there a user that has the same email address in your Zoom account as your Moodle account?
Hi, I get this error message when trying to create a new zoom activity:
"You are using Zoom for the first time, so you must enable your Zoom account by logging in to with your login credentials. Once you've activated your Zoom account, reload this page and continue setting up your meeting."
But, I already created a new account, I already validate it and I have configured mi app key and secret key.
Any ideas?
Thanks Rex , I just wanted to try it.
Lo probare y si me gusta comprare un plan adecuado.
;)
Miguel, also you cannot use this with the basic plan, your Zoom plan needs to allow API calls.
Miguel, are you using you are using the correct API key and secret? The latest version has a status checker in the Site admin > Plugins > Activities > Zoom meeting area that will give you a connection status.
I can use this with a basic plan?
An error message appears, even though I have the API key .
"You are using Zoom for the first time, so you must enable your Zoom account by logging in to https://zoom.us/ with your login credentials. Once you've activated your Zoom account, reload this page and continue setting up your meeting."
This message continues mistake though my account is active.
Thanks.
