Quickmail

Our institution loves this plugin, we are currently running 3.6 and it is working. Although I would like it if the students could email the instructors, currently they can email each other and the instructor can email all the students, but is not a way for the students to email the instructor. I will add my vote to the plugin to be supported in 3.6

I have version 1.7.6 installed and I have configured an alternative email account, but when I send the emails I send them with the default Moodle account. How can I solve it?

We would love the ability to schedule messages to be sent. For example, I'd love to email my students via Quickmail Sunday at 5PM, but I want to compose the email Friday at noon. Thanks!

Anne - We love using Quickmail, especially since they have added the ability to use email variables! It's possible to see email history for the course within the block. If you wish to see email history for specific student, I'd suggest creating a configurable report (plugin) report for that. At BlueSky School, I've setup an integration to bring Quickmail communications and other communication data to our PowerSchool SIS for communication reporting for students in that context. If you're interested in any of that, please message me.
Also, the student can reply back to the teacher that sent the message like emails sent from a typical email client. -Ben, BlueSky Online School

One other question, if an email is sent by a teacher in Moodle quickmail would students responses come back to the teacher in Moodle quickmail?

Hi, This looks like a great block. Two questions from this; are the incoming and outgoing emails record in our database against the students? If so, how would we access and review the email history? Thanks, GTI

Hi Robert, please explain "different". I'm thinking about letting the users choose their own address for notifications, but since we are also using QuickMail a lot that would be a mistake if QM keeps sending to their "old" email address.

Version 1.7.6 of this plugin was successfully tested on 3.5 and is now tagged as compatible.

Hey Ricardo and Niklas, I've not tested the currently released version of Quickmail on 3.5 yet so I cannot speak on that. If you have, please share any feedback so that we can see about patching it.
In regards to the timeout Niklas, this is unfortunately expected due the way the currently released version of Quickmail handles email sends. In short, all emails are processed and sent directly after page submission. For emails with a large number of recipients, this process could take longer than your web server allows for timeouts. In this case, the process should just fail at some point but all emails processed up until that point were sent. You then need to go back to that message in detail and resend to any failures which should be listed.
However, I'm able to tell you that we've spent a good bit of time rewriting this plugin to handle sends as an "ad-hoc" task rather than synchronously on submit. We've not yet released this new version as "official", but it lives on the "develop" branch on the plugin's GitHub repo. I encourage you to test it out to see if it will work for you. Lots of new features packed in as well. After another week of updates this week I'll go ahead and release it as official.

I guess it will work on 3.5?
One user get time session lockout when sending to 120+ students. Is there an upper limit when using Quickmail and is that around 120-200?
We use Ubuntu with Apache and Moodle 3.2
