AutoEnrol

Maintained by Roberto Pinna, Mark Ward
Adds functionality to automatically enrol users onto a course, either as they log in to your Moodle site or as they access a course. This plugin was at first intended for use on courses which you want all users to be able to access but can also be configured for more advanced purposes as reserved access courses. Using the new user filtering you can think at Autoenrol as a Swiss Army knife for Moodle enrolments.

Hello,
This plugins works in Moodle 5.2?
Thanks,
Rehan
Hello,
Autoenrol works on Moodle 4.5 and Moodle 5.0 but I did not full test it so they are not ufficially supported.
I'm sorry but I was very busy on work in past months.
I hope I could have time to check all things and release versions for Moodle 4.5, 5.0, 5.1 and 5.2 in May.
Cheers,
Roberto
I've found this plugin hugely useful for putting all new users in a sandbox course: big thanks to the developers! It's a shame to not be able to use it now we've upgraded to Moodle 5.1. I hope there will be a compatible release. Cheers,
Hi, Is there any plans for Moodle 5+? It would be great if you guys could notify ... thanks
Dear Mark and Roberto,
Do you expect to release soon a new version of your great plugin for Moodle 4.5 and later?
We are testing Mobile App and it doesn't work with 2.4.1 version.
We have found a related ticket 61 and dev guide proposes a solution based on db mobile source file
Best Regards
We have an odd issue happening where a block used only in our auto-enroled New Student Orientation course is appearing in the block drawer of other courses when users accesses their course through a Permalink for a section or the course URL. If users refresh the page, the block drawer shows the correct blocks for their course. If they access the course through the Moodle home page, it shows the correct blocks. We've cleared the site cache and browser cache. Has anyone else experienced this issue? We are on Moodle Moodle 4.5.6 (Build: 20250811) and Auto Enroll 2.4.1 (2025031400).
Dear Mark and Roberto,
Good day. Any plan to release a version of auto-enroll that would work for Moodle 5 ?
Thanks a lot for the good work and keep it coming !
Best wishes.
OsObO
Dear Db DB,
current release already works with Moodle 4.4.
I'll check support for Moodle 4.5 in few days.
Cheers,
Roberto
Hi Mark and Roberto,
When do you think we might be seeing a version of AutoEnrol available for Moodle 4.5 LTS?
Best regards,
Michael Milette
Hey there,
when will the plugin be compatible with moodle 4.4?
Thanks!
I don't really understand the "confirmation on enrol screen" option. The instruction implies that it would result in enrolment as soon as someone logs in, however the the words "confirmation on enrol screen" do not imply that behaviour at all. I tried testing it and couldn't figure it out.
Hi Roberto, Hi Mark
The plugin is great but it lacks a very important feature for me: instead of just unsubscribing, it would be useful to be able to choose between unsubscribing or suspending the subscription.
In this way, the user's progress would still be visible: since it is a complete unsubscription, at the moment this is not the case.
Thanks in advance
@Roberto: You are right. Disabled External Communication Provider in experimental settings. All is working fine again. Thank You.
HI Davor,
I think you need an availability plugin that check against first login date to do it.
I don't know if someone already developed it.
HTH,
Roberto
Hi Marcel,
I don't think this exception is related to AutoEnrol.
I tested with only manual enrolled users , with Autoenrol plugin disabled and also not installed.
It seems to be related to communication providers experimental feature.
If enabled when a user is deleted that exception is throw.
HTH,
Roberto
