I sadly do not see the Level Up XP block in my activities/resources inside any course. I have successfully installed Level Up XP 18.2 (2025041302) and I am running a compatible Moodle 4.5.1 (20241209).
Am I missing something? Thank you.
Hi @Al. Yes, it observes the course's group mode setting.
Does this plugin work with Moodle Groups, so that one group cannot see another group?
Hi @Raymon, that's right with XP you can award points based on events. If you need more control such as awarding points for completion, then XP+ would come in handy.
Hi @Frédéric, thank you for the link. I have seen the page before and made sure I'm on the right track. So, does this mean I can only set up event rules, and not other points, unless I install XP+? Last but not least, thank you! #Cheers
Hi @Raymon, this would be a good place to start: https://docs.levelup.plus/xp/docs/points
Hi @Frédéric, thank you for your reply, but I had no luck when I reset to the default settings for event rules. The events are not covering specific activities, like file views or quizzes. Is there any documentation that could help make this process easier for me?
Hi @Raymon, there should be default rules in that page when newly installed. If not, you can create a simple rule and then login as a student to witness them collecting points. Until then the leaderboard will remain empty. You can also visit the report to manually edit a student's points.
Hi I just installed the plugin but there is no data for my Points (Event rules) settings: The leaderboard is currently empty, make sure to come back later!
Hi @Charles, I don't believe the wider community will monitor these comments but, as far as we are concerned, we have been looking at implementing streaks in one of our Level Up products. No ETA, but that's certainly another gamification feature we'd like to build for Moodle!
Hi. Is anyone aware of any plans to support "streaks" in Moodle, either in Level Up XP or elsewhere? I can find no reference to streaks in Moodle yet it is a highly effective engagement approach. Apologies if this is an inappropriate place to raise this but it seems the readers here are likely to be those most interested in this topic.
Hi @Felipe, with XP+ Premium students can access their levels, points, progress, and the leaderboards using the Mobile app. This feature is presently not available in the Community version.
Hi there, Does anyone know if the new version of the plugin is working on the mobile app? I mean, for the student to check their ranking.
Thank you! We were wondering if we could award points to each other as part of the communication between users, as in the case of "Hey Taco!"(https://heytaco.com/). We wondered if we could replicate this with some activity to do something similar, but found it difficult.
Hi @Chihiro, there is no built-in system to take points from one user and give them to the next. You can add points to anybody by editing their points, or importing points with XP+. However, as we do not have any system for substracting points, it would still require manual intervention to take away the points from other users. I hope this helps.
