StudentQuiz

StudentQuiz enables students to collaboratively create their own question pools in Moodle. Students can filter these questions into quizzes, and they can rate and comment questions while working through the quizzes. StudentQuiz computes each students contribution and learning progress and compares this with the community. The created questions become part of the Moodle question bank and can be reused in other Moodle quizzes. The video "StudentQuiz in a minute" tube.switch.ch/videos/d0e37788 provides a quick introduction.

Completion tracking is not (yet) implemented in StudentQuiz and rather complicated. It could be based on the quantity and/or quality of student's contribution, or on their answering competence, or even on their overall ranking points. However, you get lots of insights about student's performance if you click on 'more' in the ranking table.
How can you set the execution conditions? For example, if a student has asked 3 questions, then he has completed the task. Or the student has 2 questions accepted by the teacher, then he completed the task?
Why isn't the item showing up in the gradebook? Is there any way to account for this activity in the gradebook?
Hi, thank you for providing such an awesome activity type !
I was wondering wether it would be possible for students to filter questions according to categories from the question bank ? This would help in empowering students to better manage their revision work and generally speaking their learning !
Also, another question is : what are the plans concerning the integration of StudentQuiz into Moodle's core ?
Thanks,
Best,
Yannick
Is there any way to reset a quiz so that the questions show as unanswered?
When I go to the quiz, about 1/3rd of the page is taken up by this "My Progress" block. Can anybody tell me how to get rid of this? I really hate it.
Hi Joseph (no it's unfortunately not smile. The question behaviour plugin qbehaviour_studentquiz (https://moodle.org/plugins/qbehaviour_studentquiz) is not needed since a good while already, remove it if you still have it installed. And for your comment, yes make sure that you have set up the question permissions for your roles accordingly on the different levels of moodle (system, course, etc.)
Hi Dragon (is that you're real name--if so, very cool!):
I think I figured it out--I think in the older version of the plugin we might have tweaked some of the student permissions to get it working, but from what I understand that is no longer needed, correct? If so, that's where the bug was....thanks!
Hi Joseph,
That is not how it's supposed to be. We need some data to get started. I've raised a bug report for you in our issue tracker: https://github.com/frankkoch/moodle-mod_studentquiz/issues/315. If possible please provide the asked additional informations there.
Fantastic plugin and great idea for having students being able to build their own questions in a social format!
Just wanted to report a bug in Moodle 3.8--it appears that students can access the question bank in any Quiz--not just StudentQuiz. Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you!
Frank, good night.
First congratulations on the plugin. He's just wonderful ...
I have a suggestion, I believe there could be a button to come and go for students to "skip" those questions that they don't know or want to leave to answer last. This button is sorely needed. Another thing that would be missing would be an accountant for him to know how long it is taking to complete each questionnaire.
Thanks.
When you say 'guest', what exactly do you mean? That concent has several different meanings in Moodle-world.
StudentQuiz (like most things in Moodle) has fine grained capabilities, so you can configure which roles can do what. The quickest way to get an answer to your question might be to experiment.
How do allow guests to use this activity?
Hi Jamie, I'm interested to learn about your ideas. Please get in touch with frank.koch (at) ost.ch
We are interested in turning this plugin into a way for organizations to help develop new questions. Would we be able to get any assistance with some recommendations to do this - it is something in great demand in the online exam administering industry.
Hola.
