Tiles format

Maintained by David Watson
A course format which displays course topics as "Tiles", in a grid rather than as a list. When clicked, tile content is displayed under the tile with an animated transition. The layout adapts to different screen sizes and orientations. Within each tile, activities can also be set to display as "sub-tiles". For each tile, the teacher can pick an icon from a predefined set, or upload a background photo.

Test release candidate, run well in 3.11
I updated the release candidate for 3.11 with some additional fixes. @Maxime please try the latest version with Mathjax
Hello,
For information :
On 3.11, the animated navigation (JS) crashes the Latex formulas (via Mathjax).
You must modify the plugin settings to disable animated navigation by default.
The problem is, when a student marks an activity as completed, it also appears to be using JS, and it also crashes the Latex formulas.
Yes this is a limitation at present (always was) - photos are included in course backups but, if you change the format, the photos will go. It's not ideal and, in the next few months, I plan to change the way the plugin stores the photo information, moving it from the standard Moodle course format options (which are cleared when the format is changed) to its own custom storage. This will ensure that the information is preserved even if the format is temporarily changed.
Thank you. I upgraded to 3.11.
After changing course format to another format and then back to tiles, all previously set custom tile images disappear.
Hi all a new release candidate is now available (see under "Versions" above). Please test this and report any issues. It includes completion tracking and other fixes (for example @Daniel Gandolfo the external tool new window issue) .
Pending community testing (please), I have marked it as being for Moodle 3.11 only. However I have tested it in Moodle 3.9 - 3.11 and automated tests are passing there so, if community testing goes well, I will release this as "stable" to Moodle 3.9 - 3.11 at the end of July 2021. (I have not yet tested it for Moodle 3.8, but plan to run the automated tests soon. Please test if you can.)
Hi, this format is good, and will be better if it can has pop-up activity format's feature
T-H-A-N-K- YOU SO MUCH!, I just need to add them.
Hi again Luis. Sure thing. I've added them to a Google Drive folder here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1FYTS9lqxCuZGy4hftqyl-CZ0V-2xIpT4?usp=sharing
Let me know if that works.
Thank you for the info, Richard, that was exactly what I needed. If you can share your icons, I would be beyond thankful to you.
Hey Luis,
I've done this with my site by adding extra numbers to the "course > format > tiles > pix > tileicon" folder. I've actually got 1-19, so I'm more than happy to send you 1-16 if you need. I've copied the font and style of the original icons.
Richard
I need icons util number 16, is there more that I can download, or do I have to make my own? if so, what's the font?
Amazing plugin - thank you. Also looking to see if it will be supported on 3.11?
Do you know if this is going to be supported on the latest 3.11 version ?
