There does need to be an instance in each course for the block on the Dashboard page to work.
You can add the block to the site home and that will add it to each course. If completion is set up on each course, the block should work.

Thank you for this awesome plugin.. i know it doesn;t make sense...but inorder to make the progress bar work on the dashboard i would need to add it on each course... is there a way to avoid that ?
The Completion Progress block relies on the completion system to determine what is complete or not. Check the settings of the SCORM activity and what is shown under Activity Completion.
Hi, Andrew.
Under default conditions it should definitely show on the course page. Things that might block this are the visibility of the block on the Admin interface for blocks or the capability for your user account to see the block. Apart from that I'm not sure. I've not heard of that happening before.

I do apologise if this is a silly question or you are not the person to ask, but I am very new to Moodle! I was wandering if the Completion Progress Bar has the functionality of showing that a learner has viewed and accessed a SCORM file but not yet completed. I have tried playing around with the settings of my captivate project and Completion Progress but can't seem to get the 'submitted' part working? I would appreciate any ideas you have.
Many Thanks
Danielle
The block should work with 3.2 already. I'm sitting on a number of updates and I hope to put out an update soon.
Michael
Sorry. The plugin is limited to showing completion in a course.
Michael
Will this plugin work to show Category completion too?
Like if we have Category with courses inside those categories and each course having certain activities. So an overview of all activities across all courses inside a Category ?
Thanks in advance
thank you
Peter
This could be done with a quick modification, but I don't think I'd make that the general case or even an option. If you're looking to do it yourself, look into the function that outputs a bar in lib.php.
Michael
Yes. If the block is added to the front page or Dashboard page, it shows a combination of progress from courses where the block is used.
Michael
can this plugin work to see the progress of a user within a set of courses and not just one? Thank you.
Athina
I enabled both 'Require passing grade' and 'Or all available attempts completed' and now the bar shows correct completion results. Cheers!
